Gaz Group and Volnoye Delo Foundation Summed up the results of the Robofest-NN

GAZ Group and Oleg Deripaska Volnoe Delo Foundation summed up the results of the Fifth Regional festival RoboFest-NN. The festival held in Nizhny Novgorod on 17-18 of January is the regional qualifying stage of the 10th All-Russian Robotic Festival RoboFest to be held in Moscow on 7-9 of March.

Competitions were held within the framework of all-Russia program "Robotics: engineering and technical talents of innovative Russia" with the support of the Ministry of education of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Center for Technical Creativity and Early Professional Guidance - the Povolzhsky Center for Aerospace Education. The prize-winning teams of the festival got the right to represent the Nizhny Novgorod region and GAZ Group in the All-Russian RoboFest to be held in March in Moscow.

RoboFest-NN festival was held in Nizhny Novgorod for the fifth time. The purpose of the festival is to develop the continuous system of early career guidance through the participation of schoolchildren in educational, research and engineering activities, sports and technical competitions, mastering of modern engineering and technical professional competencies. More than 400 schoolchildren and students aged from 6 to 25 from the Nizhny Novgorod region, as well as from Moscow and St. Petersburg, took part in RoboFest-NN. In addition to competitions, the platforms and interactive programs, including LEGO Education, were presented by partners at the festival.

The youth teams of educational institutions participated in the Fifth regional robotic festival RoboFest-NN under the aegis of GAZ Group: lyceum school No. 165 of Nizhny Novgorod, Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University named after R.E. Alekseev (NSTU), the Povolzhsky Center for Aerospace Education - regional resource center for robotics, the Center for gifted children and GAZ Group Robotic Engineering Circle.

The second runner-up in the presentation of the project in the FIRST Lego League (FLL) was the "" team of the Robotic Circle of the GAZ Group, the third runner-up was also the team of the Robotic Circle - "GAZniki", the "Y6" team of the Povolzhsky Center for Aerospace Education (PCAE) won the third place for the game on the field.

The "19_32" team of GAZ Group became a participant of the winning alliance of the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC).

The PCAE team was the winner in the senior age group "Junior" of "Engineering Project". Lyceum No. 165 team won the first three places in the junior age group "Junior". The NSTU team was the winner in the "Profi" group.

The PCAE team was the second runner-up in the nomination of Hello, Robot! Lego ("Draftsman"). The robot technicians were also nominated in three various contest areas.

- RoboFest-NN is one of the remarkable scientific and educative events in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The participants of the Robotics program are talented kids whom we help to develop their passion for scientific and technical creativity. Business and education should together foster the engineering elite for high-tech industries. Graduates of our program enter the best technical universities of the country and then come to the plants and factories to work. Several dozens of the graduates of the program are already working as design engineers and process engineers at GAZ Group businesses.

I saw many amazing developments at the festival and I can say that the young robot technicians of Nizhny Novgorod already have skills that the adult specialists might be lacking. I hope that all these guys presenting their projects today will become highly qualified specialists and will go on to work in the companies of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
