GAZ Group produces 3 cars models for Volkswagen and Daimler at its GAZ Automotive Plant in Nizhny Novgorod under contract manufacturing arrangements.
Benefiting from about EUR 500 mn total investments (made together with the partners since 2013) GAZ Group’s industrial partnerships resulted in modernization of over 200,000 sq m floor space and helped the Group to master best international car production practices in order to develop and expand its own product range.
2010 saw Russian Machines and Japanese company T.RAD, a leading international manufacturer of radiators and heat exchangers, establish TRM joint venture in Nizhny Novgorod. Now TRM engineers and manufactures high-quality aluminum heat exchangers for motor cars.
In 2012 GAZ Group set up a JV with Bosal to make exhaust systems. This was followed by a fastener making JV with Bulten in 2014. Besides, the company makes frames for the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. There are plans to establish a joint venture with Italian producer of wheel disks MW SpA. Besides while a Group-owned engine plant is Yaroslavl produces Mercedes engines for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter.
In 2012 Russian Machines and US company Terex set up a joint venture (RM-Terex) to produce construction machines in Russia. Over the last few year the company has launched dozens new products to the market.
2013 saw Russian Machines set up a joint venture with one of the world’s largest manufacturers of farming machines AGCO Corporation (US). Today the company assembles Massey Ferguson combines and tractors as well as agricultural implements in Golitsino (Moscow region).
